About my year

I can’t be the woman I was in 2019 no matter how hard I try. At the time, I had worked my way through the divorce, moved into a gorgeous home on the river in London, and was ready to take on the world. I felt strong, capable, positive. But then the pandemic arrived, and it crushed a lot of people’s spirits and self-confidence and resilience. Mine included. So I had to unstick myself, abandon my comfort zone by taking a year out. Although what is a year out? Out of my life? Impossible, I am always in my life. It’s a year away from the expected. Krishnamurti’s quote above comes from a lecture he gave in the 1970s, when he paused, leaned forward and said, almost conspiratorially, “Do you want to know what my secret is?” I have adopted his response as a mantra for my year of exploration, and will use this blog to keep my connection with you, to let you know what happens. I have no idea how it will unfold, nor how often I will post, but I hope you come along for the ride.
